Stevie has a fun, witty writing style that is just plain fun to read. Don't get me wrong - I like reading about sexy times and spanky times, and this book has them. But there's humor, character development, and a whole array of fascinating, quirky characters that make you care about them in only a few paragraphs. I LOVED Effie - she's a sassy, classy spitfire who goes after what she wants and is loyal to her friends...even if it means endangering herself and making a few bad decisions now and then. And Sam is the perfect match for her. I'm not usually a fan of non-con discipline, but Stevie keeps it light enough and "connish" enough to still be within my comfort zone, and she writes it well. I appreciate how Effie and Sam grow together as a couple and make some compromises for each other. Well done!Product details

Another gem from Stevie MacFarlane. I have read all of Ms. MacFarlane's books twice because in my opinion,they are so good and this one is no exception. Effie is something else. She is a woman ahead of her time. She is loyal and kind. She is intelligent and full of spirit and is not afraid to speak her mind and is most admirable in this particular time in our history during the women's rights movement. At first I was a little shocked of Effie and Sam's physical attraction to each other and the way it unfolded during this period in time but leave it to Ms. MacFarlane to push the envelope in a very interesting way proving that throughout history people are people. I highly recommend this book and plan on reading it again. Like all of Stevie's books you keep finding gemstones throughout, even the second time around.
This was a great addition to this series and Effie is my favorite so far. I love her sass and wit and could not stop laughing.
Always a book I can't put down.,if it by this author. It is sweet,funny,some drama sexy and hot.love learning about this time period.
I have really enjoyed this series! One of the things I really enjoy is how well I get to know the supporting characters.
The characters danced before my eyes with wit and charm. This is quite possibly the best book of Ms MacFarlane's to date. The spiciness of this book is a surprising delight...not what i had expected and more than I had hoped.
Read about Effie and Sam and the rest of the gang. You knocked it out of the park, dear.

By far my favorite of the Marriage Market series! I knew it would be wonderful - Effie and Sam are like oil and water and you could tell from book 2 that they would set off sparks. She kept him on his toes and he flared her passions with ease. Loved the humor, the passion, seeing all of the other characters, and especially the ending! It was so refreshing to see the bossy, arrogant Sam finally acknowledge Effie's skills and talents. My only complaint was that it ended much too soon! Please revisit these characters, Ms. MacFarlane! You have so many more brides who have a story to tell!!
I absolutely loved this book!! From the beginning to the very last page! Effie, is by far, my most favorite character! She is full of spirit and sass and she is never worried about speaking her mind! I was laughing out loud while reading and cheering her on, seriously. Sam is strong enough to handle her and boy, do the sparks fly! A fantastic addition to the series and you get to visit with the characters from the first two books. This stands alone nicely but if you haven't read the other two you are seriously missing out!
